How often should I descale my coffee machine?
Descale as soon as your machine asks for it; with average use, that is about every 3 months. With hard water, more often. With a water filter, less often.
Which descaler should I use?
Preferably use the descaler from your machine's brand. It is matched to the machine's materials and descaling programme. Each product states which machines it is suitable for.
What is the difference between descaling and cleaning?
Descaling removes limescale from the boiler and the pipes. Cleaning removes coffee residue and remnants from the brew group. You need both: descalers do not clean, and cleaning tablets do not descale.
How often should I replace the water filter?
On average every 2 months, or after about 50 litres of water, or when your machine indicates it.
How do I clean the milk system?
Briefly rinse after every cup with milk and, with daily use, clean the milk system about once a week with a milk system cleaner from your brand.
Where can I find my machine's type number?
Usually on a sticker behind the water tank, under the drip tray or underneath the machine.
