How to descale your Siemens EQ or Bosch Vero

Your machine tells you when it is time to descale. Allow about half an hour and stay nearby.

  1. In the Maintenance menu, choose Descale, or hold down the Calc'nClean button for about 5 seconds (depending on your model).
  2. Empty the drip tray and the coffee grounds container and put them back. If you use a water filter, remove it from the water tank.
  3. Fill the water tank with lukewarm water up to the mark shown on the display (usually 0,5 litre) and dissolve one tablet in it.
  4. Place a bowl of at least 1 litre under the coffee spout and under the milk spout.
  5. Start the programme and let it run to the end (about 20 minutes). Do not switch the machine off in between.
  6. Empty the bowl and follow the display for the rinse cycle, which takes about as long. Then rinse the water tank, fill it with fresh water and put the water filter back.

Caffinity tip: If you want to clean and descale in one go, choose Calc'nClean. The machine will then also ask for a 2-in-1 cleaning tablet.
