How to descale your coffee maker
Is brewing taking longer, or can you hear the machine gurgling? Then it is time to descale.
- Put the descaler in the water reservoir and top up with water in the ratio stated on the packaging.
- Switch the appliance on without coffee (empty filter holder or pad holder) and place the jug or a container underneath.
- Let about half run through, switch the appliance off and leave to work for 15 to 30 minutes.
- Switch the appliance back on and let the rest run through.
- Rinse by running at least two full reservoirs of fresh water through.
Caffinity tip: Do not use vinegar: it can damage the rubber parts and seals of your appliance.
