Instructions for use: Durgol Swiss Espresso descaler – 2 x 125 ml

How to descale your coffee machine

Descale as soon as your machine asks for it; with average use that's about every 3 months. Allow 20 to 45 minutes.

  1. Start the descaling programme via the Maintenance menu or the maintenance button.
  2. Empty the drip tray and the coffee grounds container and put them back. If you use a water filter, remove it from the water tank.
  3. Pour the descaler into the water tank and top up with water in the ratio stated on the packaging, or as the display asks. Dissolve tablets in lukewarm water first.
  4. Place a large bowl under all the spouts (coffee, hot water and milk).
  5. Let the programme run to the end and do not switch off the machine in between.
  6. Rinse the water tank well, fill it with fresh water and let the machine rinse as the display asks. Then put the water filter back.

Caffinity tip: Doesn't your espresso machine have a descaling programme? Then run the solution in portions through the brew head and steam wand, leave it to work for 15 minutes and rinse with two full tanks of fresh water.

Every machine is slightly different. If in doubt, follow the display or your machine's manual.
