Brew group won't go in?

This is almost always down to the machine, not the brew group. A brew group only goes in if the machine has first been switched off properly. If the power has failed, or the plug was pulled before the switch-off was complete, the mechanism inside is not in the right position.

  1. Do not force the brew group.
  2. Close the door, plug the machine in and switch it on. Wait until the start-up procedure has completely finished.
  3. Switch the machine off with the on/off button and wait until the switch-off has fully completed. Only then pull out the plug.
  4. Put the brew group back in and press it until it clicks into place.

Is it really the brew group?

  • Does your machine show a message that the brew group must be inserted, right after cleaning? Then it is usually not seated properly: take it out and put it back in.
  • Rinse the brew group with lukewarm water only: no washing-up liquid and not in the dishwasher.

How to replace the brew group

Is the machine leaking, or are coffee grounds ending up in your cup, or is no coffee coming out? Then the brew group is often worn.

  1. Switch the machine off and pull the plug out of the socket.
  2. Open the service door on the side and take out the old brew group: press the release and pull it towards you.
  3. Sweep the space clean with a dry brush.
  4. Check in your manual whether the new brew group is in the correct starting position, and slide it in until it clicks into place.
  5. Close the door, switch the machine on and throw away the first two cups of coffee.

Caffinity tip: Before ordering, check your machine's model on the type plate (often under the drip tray). That way you can be sure the brew group fits.
